Tools and materials
4mm hook
3 ply wool – 1 yellow, 1 orange (main and contrast for beak and feet)
Black embroidery thread
Needles for sewing (darning needle and embroidery needle)
9mm eyes with safety backs

Abbreviations
sc = single crochet
ch = chain
inc = increase (stitch two sc in one sc)
dec = decrease (stitch next two sc together)
x = repeat (followed by number indicating how many times i.e. ‘x 6′)
sk = skip over next stitch
sl st = slip stitch
(6), (12) (18) etc = number of crochets in round
FLO = front loop only
hdc = half double crochet
htc = half treble crochet

Feet (make 2)
Using orange wool.
Each foot is made in two parts and sewn together. Feet are made in rounds until row 5, where it swaps to rows.

Finishing touch
Using black embroidery thread sew three eyelashes coming from eyes.
